Chinese folk's art - paper cutting/中国剪纸民间艺术.
Sorry, for not posting anything on my blog for a while 'cos I've been doing all my posting on my facebook's wall.
I'm not very good at blogging but I find that I'm more comfortable with facebook. So, I'll try my best to post as many as I can from now on, no promise but....
These are Chinese folk art know as paper cutting, they are used to be paste onto window pane as decoration during Chinese New Year or a wedding. All these are cut by me, using a retractable craft knife.

Jiaozi or Guo Tie
We, my daughter and I had a jiao zi pleating competition a few weeks ago we managed to plaid 16 pleats and that's our best that we can do. This is how they look like, the 1st photo is the 14 pleats one, then comes the 15 pleats and then the last one is 16 pleats. Here is the photos of them and a plate of crispy pot stickers.
One tray of Jiaozi ready to go in the wok.

My Blessing to All of You/我的祝福
This is a family of stuffed owls that I made two days ago. The Japanese word for owl is fukurou, they made these as a gift for friends and there are not only as gifts but also as a blessing too. Because fuku in Japanese shares the same meaning and writing as the Chinese fu (褔) and fukurou seem to sound like fuku so they like the idea of giving their friends stuffed owls.
