Mixed Meat Congee 'n Soy King Fried Noodles
Mixed Meat Congee
Soy King Fried Noodles aka Kichap Manis Fried Noodles
Our first
encountered with soy king fried noodles was after we came over to Australia 22
years ago at restaurant
while having our lunch at a yum cha restaurant. My son wanted to know what sort
of noodle was
that after he heard the name being called out by the waitress pushing the trolley 'cos it sound quite grand. So, we ordered a plate and when the waitress placed the plate in front of
my son, he quickly
picked up his chopsticks and dig in. Immediately he gave this noodle a name, he
called it 'Fool's Noodles'. Why? his reason is there
are no meat in it and just garlic chives and mung
bean sprouts and it's not cheap
either. Well, from that day onwards, he stop requesting for this
noodles whenever he goes yum cha.
When he wanted to have this noodles he would request me to fry it
for him and now he can fry it himself 'cos he is 28
years old now and he is the executive and head chef of
Lee Ho Fook in Collingwood on 92, Smith Street, Melbourne. Well done, Victor,
we are very proud of you.
